Dondra: The Southernmost Point of the Island
Dondra is the southernmost point of the island, where looking out at the ocean gives you the feeling that there’s nothing but water until you reach the South Pole. The southern coast is known for its stunning scenery, featuring rocky shores, volcanic stone formations, and palm groves, with wild, less-touristed locations.
We’ll pick you up early in the morning and take you to the most beautiful spots along the southern coast. Our team will include a driver, a drone operator, and a photographer. At each location, there will be a photo session and aerial shooting. You’ll leave not only with unforgettable memories but also with amazing photos and videos!
Route:
📍The Southernmost Point of the Island: Visit the lighthouse and a cozy beach with turquoise waters and small sharks. There will be a photo session. While flying the drone is not allowed on the lighthouse grounds, we can capture it from the next location.
📍Secret Cove: Take a walk through the coconut grove along the ocean. This is my signature location that no one knows about.
📍Uninhabited Dickwella Island: This place looks absolutely stunning from the drone! We’ll fly the drone here and have an amazing photo session on the rocks. After the island, we’ll head to the surf village of Hiriketiya for lunch.
📍Hiriketiya: This charming village on the south coast of Sri Lanka is known for its incredible horseshoe-shaped bay and relaxed atmosphere. It’s a hidden gem with cozy cafes, lush tropical greenery, and great surfing spots, making it a favorite among travelers seeking a serene and picturesque getaway. In Hiriketiya, we’ll have a photo session in the amazing interiors of cozy cafes, among tropical narrow streets, and with playful monkeys. The vibe of the local establishments is very different from most restaurants in Sri Lanka—each café has its own distinctive atmosphere, allowing for some truly atmospheric shots amidst all the variety.
📍Surf Point and Surf Shooting: Here, you can capture great shots with surfboards, and you might even have time for a surf lesson (surf lessons and restaurant bills are separate and optional).
You can skip lunch since we always bring a variety of exotic fruits, water, and snacks in the car. During the shoots, it’s important to stay hydrated, especially since some routes may require a bit of physical activity. Therefore, comfortable footwear is recommended (you can even take it off during the shoot), and wear clothes made from natural fabrics. You’ll receive full instructions and recommendations during the consultation.
We can make adjustments to the route based on your preferences. Each client receives an individual approach.
